Congrats to Kat for making the final two! Woo Hoo! I was really sad to see Elliott go though. He really is an amazing talent american idol final four.jpgand human being. I did not think this was his best week. I am so sick of Taylor Hicks’s gyrations! He is nowhere near as versatile as Katharine. He does what he does well, but it gets tiring after a while. And I do not like the gray hair! My friend Danny thinks he looks like the spawn of Rex Reed and George Clooney! I have to agree. Kat’s voice was definitely the best of the top four. She suffered from some bad songs and some flubbed lyrics, but she always made a connection with the song. Only Chris was the other of the four to do the same. Elliot and Taylor can sing well, but they are not consistent in making a real connection to the audience, or the lyrics. Kat always comes off as if she is a star. She is pure magic! Please America! Vote for the most talented! Vote for Katharine McPhee!

  3. Nicole and Roywoody, I could not disagree with you more. Katherine sings circles around Taylor and is much more versatile. I was especially impressed with her ability to sing oldies. I also agree with the judges however that she does sometimes tend to oversing songs. Once she cuts down on the runs as she did in “Over the Rainbow” her talent will really shine through. As for Taylor…he is what he is. Roywoody compared him to raspy Bolton and Stewart. He’s nothing like either of them, although I wouldn’t buy any of their albums. I guess that’s what they have in common. He’s much more like Joe Cocker, especially the way he moves. That’s my 2 cents.
    By the way Nicole…calling someone an idiot for their opinion, whom you don’t even know, is incredibly rude. He simply likes Katherine and doesn’t care for Taylor. Some might think you were jealous of Katherines looks and singing ability. Maybe you are subpar in those departments. But I don’t know you so I won’t say that…it’s not very nice is it?

  4. Nicole.. Her fan base didn’t look like Taylor’s or Elliot’s because she lives in Los Angeles which is full of celebrities. She appeared at a high school and not a mall! She got almost the same amount of votes as Taylor or Elliot, so your logic is flawed.

    Roywoody.. Mediocre Singer? Katharine has the most training in voice over the top four contestants (She graduated from Boston Conservatory of Music), and has a far greater range than either Michael Bolton or Rod Stewert.

  5. disneybear & janet….sorry for the name calling. you are right. Just to let you know, I happen to live in LA. Its just like every other place. There are communities and everyone here is not famous and walking around like hollywood stars. We are one of the most densely populated places in the US. I find it comical that she was able to only get a high school and a few people at her home. Just to let you also know, many people come to LA to spot superstars.

    Anytime anyone has anything critical to say about a beautiful woman, everyone thinks they are jeolous. That would be as rediculous as me saying that you are a lesbian because you are so into her. right?

    Katherine does have the most training and best shot at making it big. Do you know that her mommy is a cabaret singer/ voice coach and her daddy is a producer? Guess she is going to have a hard time breaking in? With all of that behind her, it is interesting that she has not made a spot for herself yet. Could it be that she is not vocally talented enough?
    America, look at taylor and elliot? There stories prove that adversity makes one strong and work hard and being grateful for every opportunity that has been placed in front of them. Do they live in LA and is there dad already have connections in the buisness? GIVE THIS TO A GREAT DESERVING HARDWORKING PERSON WHO HAS MADE IT ON THEIR OWN!!!!!
    Do you know how much money bolton and stewart have made and how many albums and grammys? You should do some research. Obviously, somebody likes their music! Janet and Disneybear, consider changing your vote for the intregity of AMERICAN IDOL!!!

  6. Wow, I am amazed by the passion you all show towards people you don’t even know. In reading all the comments, I have to say that although Nicole is obviously writing in raw emotion, she does make some good points…On both sides of the argument…Katharine is beautiful and really knows how to play to the camera. She is a natural on stage. Taylor’s stage presence can be scary at times…and you wonder what is he thinking? However, Taylor is vocally superior regardless of formal training or not. His sound is unique, fresh, new and apeals to so many age brackets. Katharine is the typical, expected type of pop star. Yawn. I agree that Katharine also has the edge because of her marketability…and it makes me wonder how much the public really does “pick” the winner. The 33% thing…very fishy. I say this because 3 of my friends and I all tried calling for Elliot for 1 hour straight. I got in 4 votes and the others roughly the same. My roomate voted for Katharine for an hour…she got in 50 votes! How can this be that if the same numbers of people are voting for each contestant, one can have their lines impossible to reach? Again, very fishy. If Katharine wins I will really doubt the legitimacy of this show and will not watch another season.

  7. I totally agree with nicole ,roywoody and alicia’s mom. Taylor is the better singer , Katharine is the typical pop singer, young and beautiful. With her mom and dads positions she will have many chances at stardom. So give it to Taylor.

  8. I Love this! Thanks for all your great comments, even though I totally disagree. Katharine is far from a typical pop singer, her range and emotion are meant for far greater than that. She has a clearer voice and more range than Kelly Clarkson. I also think that Katharine would have a better career if she did not sing pop. She could be the next Linda Eder. I think it would be a shame to have her sing the current pop songs. She has the range and personality to sing the great american songbook. She is above the current Pop fair. Taylor is special in his own way, but vocally is limited. Everyone is entilted to their opinion, but having been a professional singer/actor for over 25 years and studied music and voice for more than that, I feel you are all way off the mark. Vote for Taylor if you like him, but don’t delude yourself he is the better vocalist. Given the results of the voting, I think all the top four will have great careers. Remember Clay Aiken?

    I understand that you really appreciate Katharine’s talent, but America also votes for personality, character and likeability. Katharine cheering when Elliot was kicked off was so self-serving. She probably got caught in the moment, but that was so insensitive and I think it will cost her votes. Taylor had the dignity to restrain his own excitement and sympathize with a fellow contestant.

  12. I believe Taylor will win also, but nothing he has ever done was as flawless as Katharine’s “Over the Rainbow”. I hope she isn’t the next Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood. I hope she is the next Linda Eder.
